AW23 Look - No.11
Look 11 features a very simple, classic colour palette with few products used, we show you how the simplest of outfits using just three items (socks not included) using a combination of interesting and rich textures can make anything more engaging. Whereas your commercial brands do the talking with logos, bells and whistles, minimal luxury shows off with rich fabrics and beautiful textures.

For some ludicrous reason roll necks are marmite. The dislike usually comes from men not liking something hugging around their neck or their partners being reminded of the Milk Tray man. If tightness around the neck is the problem but aesthetically you like a roll neck we always recommend going for a looser, thicker yarn like the navy boucle roll neck from Gran Sasso featured here in look 11.
The fabric gives to your shape a lot easier, after a few wears it feels almost as if it’s not around your neck at all. Boucle has been the buzz fabric for a few seasons and from seeing future collections it’s not going anywhere for a while, the looped yarn adds a beautiful spongy texture, for the eye and the handle. I got this for myself, as it not only looks like the guv’na but also does a good job of covering my chins. I tend to wear it as seen or with a chino and C-QP Racquet sneakers.
In look No. 02 we said white trousers are a summer wardrobe necessity, I cannot say the same for winter. For me they are a definite must, I wear them all the time, but I do work in a shop, and if you’re up the city four days a week in an office, you may feel like a pretentious twat. If it suits your occupation, or you’re out somewhere on the weekend on a bright crisp sunny day, these winter white velvety cords from Berwich look super elegant with near on any coloured knitwear, jacket, shirt or overcoat. To top it off our clients who have already been wearing them for a few weeks say they’re comfier than their jogging bottoms and keep their shape better. Disclaimer, the ones I am wearing are my personal pair that I have changed the inch turn up to a 2-inch.
GH Bass, notoriously seen as a loafer brand, also dives into boots and chunkier silhouettes like the winter Larson as featured. Multiple textures come into play again just in the shoes alone, the majority of the upper is made in a full grain super soft leather, and the camp is a tonal nubuck. The chunky boot-like sole is made with an incredibly light EVA sole unit, once worn in it feels like you’re wearing a pair of trainers. They look great with more informal tailoring but I think they work best with a selvedge denim and Vetra jacket.
