AW23 Look - No.9
The weekend gone has shown how uncertain the UK weather can be, from five days earlier being the hottest October weekend on record to frosty temperatures the following, so we thought it was about time to have our latest outfit featuring some outerwear. Here we have outfit No.9, probably the most wearable and commercial outfit of the AW23 looks.
The coat is from Italian luxury outerwear specialists Montecore. This sweet piece of sexiness can keep you toasty even in the minuses. I mean, I've felt just how hot you can get in one; it wasn't ideal shooting this look on the seafront when it was 30 degrees. The outer material is made in a super 120's Taupe coloured merino wool and is filled with one of the warmest natural fibres, 90% duck down, 10% feathers. It feels like you have nothing on your back when you slip it on—it also includes a removable nylon padded insert to block out the snappy weather. The real beauty of this is it looks great with jeans, as seen here, It is equally as good over your whistle on a commute!
The cap is from Danish hat maker Varsity, which we have worked with since we opened our doors, and they've been well received from the jump. Switching from linen in the summer to merino in the winter. These wool hats keep the sun out of your eyes but also your head warm, without going down the baker boy route. Think Succession, not Peaky Blinders.
Edwin, like Varsity, has been with us from the beginning. It is one of our more contemporary brands but still sits beautifully within our 'classic' brand list. We admire Japanese denim, especially Selvedge, which Edwin create at a very competitive price point. Here I'm wearing the regular tapered (anything slimmer I would need to be shoehorned in) green Selvedge mid-wash jeans. They have almost green-like whiskering and fading, making them look slightly rough and dirty. Ideal with earthy tones such as the coat and boots.
The Sabulo boot from CQP sold out incredibly fast last winter. So it was a no-brainer to buy again but evolve it to the seasonal dusty green colour. One of many good things this Swedish company do is create beautiful shapes, and Sabulo may just top the list. Sturdy yet soft and leather lined with a super soft suede upper (protected suede for the people worrying!). Another thing CQP do is use some of the finest leathers and suedes known to man and woman; their suede, in particular is noticeably better than most out on the market. There are a lot of shoemakers out there nowadays making well-made 'made in Portugal' trainers but the materials used are naff. Not here, compadre. We recommend wearing this boot with jeans or chinos. Just make sure the hem opening isn't too tight so they don't look too clumpy!
So there you have it; Look No.9 of AW23 is now live. So look out for our 'ways to wear it'.
