The above price is shown as a guide, and we may require extra postage before your order can be dispatched if the parcel weighs over 2kg. If there is an additional charge, the cost will be worked out by ourselves, and you will be contacted via email.
International orders will be shipped DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) and may incur duties, fees and import taxes upon delivery. By placing an order with The Local Merchants, you acknowledge that you understand this and that you are responsible for any such charges. This charge is ultimately determined by your local customs authority. Payment of these is necessary to release your order from customs. For more information, please consult your local customs office.
Australian Customers: no import tax or duties are payable for orders under AUD 1,000 (including shipping). Please get in touch with us if you would like to order in excess of this amount.
Refusal of Delivery for EU & R.O.W:
If a customer refuses to pay any of these, the delivery will be returned to us, and the cost of the return shipping will be deducted from the final refund amount. This will be charged at our standard shipping rate applicable to the original destination country. The original shipping cost for the parcel to be sent to the EU/ROW will not be refunded in the case of a refused parcel.
Pick Up In-Store (Leigh-on-Sea):
We provide a convenient click-and-collect service from our store in Leigh-on-Sea that is free and easy to use. To use this service, select the Pick Up In Store option during the checkout process. You will receive an email notification when your order is ready to be collected. Please note that orders are processed between Monday and Friday. In order to avoid disappointment, please only attempt to collect your order after you receive a notification. You can collect your order from our store at 114 Leigh Rd, Leigh-on-Sea, SS9 1BU, during opening hours, any day of the week. We request that orders be collected within 14 days. If, for any reason, you are unable to collect your order within this time frame, please let us know. Orders that remain uncollected after 14 days will be automatically refunded.
ONLINE RETURNS
Online refund policy: Purchases made online are governed by UK Distance Selling Regulations, and the returns process differs from in-store purchases.

The cost and responsibility of returning the item are yours. We recommend using a trackable, insured service, as we cannot accept liability for lost or damaged parcels. Original shipping costs are non-refundable. If returning from overseas, please mark the parcel ‘RETURNED GOODS’ to avoid customs charges. Any taxes or duties incurred are the customer’s responsibility. You have 14 days from receipt to return your item for a full refund.
If we’ve made an error with your order, please contact us immediately and we’ll resolve it as quickly as possible.
Items must be received in the same condition they were sent — unworn, with all original labels and packaging intact.
Garments showing any marks, scent, or signs of wear may be subject to a cleaning fee, which will be deducted from your refund.
Exchanges
If you’d like to exchange an item, you can submit a request via your account, or return it with the completed returns form enclosed.

IN-STORE RETURNS
Refunds: Should you need to return anything purchased at The Local Merchants store, please bring your receipt and unworn items back for a refund based on the original payment method. Restrictions apply.
Please bring your receipt and the item in its original condition, back within 28 days for a refund via your original form of payment or gift card.
Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to process exchanges for non-UK customers.
Exchanges: Any items purchased at The Local Merchants store can be exchanged. You can exchange your purchase for another item or gift card at The Local Merchants store that accepts the same currency as the original purchase.
Items purchased in The Local Merchants store or thelocalmerchants.co.uk can be exchanged in-store within 28 days.
Please note that we monitor the number of returns made by customers, and continued returns will be flagged and potentially refused at our discretion or led to the closure of your The Local Merchants account. Your statutory rights are not affected.
CONDITIONS OF USE
The Local Merchants Warranties: The Local Merchants is unable to provide any warranties in relation to the goods provided over and above its statutory obligation to provide goods of satisfactory quality in accordance with the Sale of Goods Act 1979 as amended by the Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994.
The Local Merchants Limited Liability: Except in relation to liability for death or personal injury The Local Merchants liability for negligence shall be limited to the total value of the transaction. The Local Merchants shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses even if The Local Merchants has previously been advised of the likelihood of such losses.
Availability of the Website and Goods: The Local Merchants will use all reasonable endeavours to ensure that the website does not have any problems and that the goods displayed are available. However it cannot guarantee the availability of the website or that any goods on the site are in stock or available.
