Dark Brown Lizard Stamped Leather Edouard Lug Shoes from Jacques Solovière are a lace-up lug-sole derby in dark brown calfskin, stamped with a lizard-skin pattern. The Edouard Lug is the Paris label's minimalist city shoe, inspired by what the brand calls the vagabond lifestyle. It pairs a clean, rounded derby shape with a chunky rubber lug sole, and this version adds the texture of a lizard print to an otherwise understated shoe.
The upper is calfskin leather, embossed with a lizard-scale pattern. The print gives the leather depth and a subtle sheen without the cost or care of exotic skins, and in dark brown it reads as rich and textured rather than loud. Inside, the shoe is lined in leather with a leather insole. Leather breathes and moulds to your foot over time, so the shoe gets more comfortable the more you wear it.
Underneath is a synthetic lug sole with a micro-tread pattern for grip on wet pavements and cobbles, plus a double-stitched welt for a durable, clearly visible construction line. The shoe is not warm-lined, so it works all year round rather than just in winter.
It's a versatile shoe that sits between smart and casual. Wear it with raw or mid-wash denim, cords, flannel or wool trousers. It works with a chunky knit, an overshirt or a quilted jacket at the weekend, or with tailoring for a less formal take on a dress shoe. Dark brown sits naturally with navy, grey, olive, cream and earthy autumn colours.
Jacques Solovière is a Parisian footwear label launched in June 2014, known for modern takes on wardrobe staples such as derbies, loafers and slippers with clean lines and considered proportions. The Edouard Lug is made in Portugal and comes with a dust bag.
To care for it, wipe off dirt with a soft cloth and use a leather conditioner from time to time to keep the calfskin supple. The leather isn't waterproof, so if the shoes get wet, stuff them with newspaper and let them dry naturally, away from direct heat. Store them somewhere cool and dry, ideally in the dust bag, with shoe trees.

International orders will be shipped DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) and may incur duties, fees and import taxes upon delivery. By placing an order with The Local Merchants, you acknowledge that you understand this and that you are responsible for any such charges. Australian Customers: no import tax or duties are payable for orders under AUD 1,000 (including shipping). Please get in touch with us if you would like to order in excess of this amount.
Refusal of Delivery for EU & R.O.W:
If a customer refuses to pay any of these, the delivery will be returned to us, and the cost of the return shipping will be deducted from the final refund amount. This will be charged at our standard shipping rate applicable to the original destination country. The original shipping cost for the parcel to be sent to the EU/ROW will not be refunded in the case of a refused parcel.

Online refund policy: Purchases made online are governed by UK Distance Selling Regulations, and the returns process differs from in-store purchases.

The cost and responsibility of returning the item are yours. We recommend using a trackable, insured service, as we cannot accept liability for lost or damaged parcels. Original shipping costs are non-refundable. If returning from overseas, please mark the parcel ‘RETURNED GOODS’ to avoid customs charges. Any taxes or duties incurred are the customer’s responsibility. You have 14 days from receipt to return your item for a full refund.
If we’ve made an error with your order, please contact us immediately and we’ll resolve it as quickly as possible.
Items must be received in the same condition they were sent — unworn, with all original labels and packaging intact.
Garments showing any marks, scent, or signs of wear may be subject to a cleaning fee, which will be deducted from your refund.

If you’d like to exchange an item, you can submit a request via your account, or return it with the completed returns form enclosed.

Refunds: Should you need to return anything purchased at The Local Merchants store, please bring your receipt and unworn items back for a refund based on the original payment method. Restrictions apply.
Please bring your receipt and the item in its original condition, back within 28 days for a refund via your original form of payment or gift card.
Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to process exchanges for non-UK customers.
Exchanges: Any items purchased at The Local Merchants store can be exchanged. You can exchange your purchase for another item or gift card at The Local Merchants store that accepts the same currency as the original purchase.
Items purchased in The Local Merchants store or thelocalmerchants.co.uk can be exchanged in-store within 28 days.
Please note that we monitor the number of returns made by customers, and continued returns will be flagged and potentially refused at our discretion or led to the closure of your The Local Merchants account. Your statutory rights are not affected.
