Black Long Sleeve Heavyweight T-Shirt from Sunspel is a relaxed-fit, long sleeve T-shirt cut from the brand's carbon-brushed Supima cotton jersey. It is the long sleeve version of Sunspel's heavyweight T-shirt: a compact, weightier jersey than the brand's other T-shirts, with a soft brushed handle, made to be an everyday black long sleeve tee for autumn and winter.
The weight is what sets it apart. A standard long sleeve T-shirt can feel thin or cling once the temperature drops. This compact jersey has more body to it, so it hangs cleanly, holds its shape and works as a proper layer in its own right rather than just an undershirt. The carbon-brushing softens the surface of the cotton for a smoother, more comfortable feel against the skin.
The cotton is 100% Supima, the trademarked name for the finest American-grown Pima cotton, which makes up less than 1% of the world's cotton. Its extra-long staple fibres are nearly twice the length of standard cotton. That gives a stronger, softer yarn that holds its colour and shape through repeated washing, which matters on a black T-shirt you'll wear week in, week out. Sunspel's Supima is fully traceable and sustainably sourced from California.
In a versatile black, it's an easy base for colder-weather outfits. Wear it on its own with jeans or chinos, under an overshirt, cardigan or open shirt, or beneath a chore jacket, blazer or overcoat when you want warmth without bulk. The relaxed fit leaves room to layer without the sleeves or body feeling tight.
Sunspel has been making clothes in England since 1860, when Thomas Hill founded the company in Nottingham, and it was making some of the world's earliest T-shirts over a century ago. Based in Long Eaton since 1937, the brand is best known for its Classic T-shirt and the Riviera Polo worn by Daniel Craig's James Bond in Casino Royale. This heavyweight long sleeve style is made in Portugal and is part of Sunspel's Pre SS27 collection, "for the winter days ahead."
To keep it looking its best, wash gently at 30°C with similar colours. Do not tumble dry and do not dry clean.

The above price is shown as a guide, and we may require extra postage before your order can be dispatched if the parcel weighs over 2kg. If there is an additional charge, the cost will be worked out by ourselves, and you will be contacted via email.
International orders will be shipped DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) and may incur duties, fees and import taxes upon delivery. By placing an order with The Local Merchants, you acknowledge that you understand this and that you are responsible for any such charges. This charge is ultimately determined by your local customs authority. Payment of these is necessary to release your order from customs. For more information, please consult your local customs office.
Australian Customers: no import tax or duties are payable for orders under AUD 1,000 (including shipping). Please get in touch with us if you would like to order in excess of this amount.
Refusal of Delivery for EU & R.O.W:
If a customer refuses to pay any of these, the delivery will be returned to us, and the cost of the return shipping will be deducted from the final refund amount. This will be charged at our standard shipping rate applicable to the original destination country. The original shipping cost for the parcel to be sent to the EU/ROW will not be refunded in the case of a refused parcel.
Pick Up In-Store (Leigh-on-Sea):
We provide a convenient click-and-collect service from our store in Leigh-on-Sea that is free and easy to use. To use this service, select the Pick Up In Store option during the checkout process. You will receive an email notification when your order is ready to be collected. Please note that orders are processed between Monday and Friday. In order to avoid disappointment, please only attempt to collect your order after you receive a notification. You can collect your order from our store at 114 Leigh Rd, Leigh-on-Sea, SS9 1BU, during opening hours, any day of the week. We request that orders be collected within 14 days. If, for any reason, you are unable to collect your order within this time frame, please let us know. Orders that remain uncollected after 14 days will be automatically refunded.

Online refund policy: Purchases made online are governed by UK Distance Selling Regulations, and the returns process differs from in-store purchases.

The cost and responsibility of returning the item are yours. We recommend using a trackable, insured service, as we cannot accept liability for lost or damaged parcels. Original shipping costs are non-refundable. If returning from overseas, please mark the parcel ‘RETURNED GOODS’ to avoid customs charges. Any taxes or duties incurred are the customer’s responsibility. You have 14 days from receipt to return your item for a full refund.
If we’ve made an error with your order, please contact us immediately and we’ll resolve it as quickly as possible.
Items must be received in the same condition they were sent — unworn, with all original labels and packaging intact.
Garments showing any marks, scent, or signs of wear may be subject to a cleaning fee, which will be deducted from your refund.
Exchanges
If you’d like to exchange an item, you can submit a request via your account, or return it with the completed returns form enclosed.

IN-STORE RETURNS
Refunds: Should you need to return anything purchased at The Local Merchants store, please bring your receipt and unworn items back for a refund based on the original payment method. Restrictions apply.
Please bring your receipt and the item in its original condition, back within 28 days for a refund via your original form of payment or gift card.
Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to process exchanges for non-UK customers.
Exchanges: Any items purchased at The Local Merchants store can be exchanged. You can exchange your purchase for another item or gift card at The Local Merchants store that accepts the same currency as the original purchase.
Items purchased in The Local Merchants store or thelocalmerchants.co.uk can be exchanged in-store within 28 days.
Please note that we monitor the number of returns made by customers, and continued returns will be flagged and potentially refused at our discretion or led to the closure of your The Local Merchants account. Your statutory rights are not affected.
